Over the past few weeks we have talked about the importance of health and overall well being. We have talked about using different methods to actively engage our students physically in activities pertaining to the health of their bodies and minds. The use of brain teasers and optical illusions are a great way to introduce the idea of exercising our brains. Crossword puzzles, word searches and word jumbles encourage our students to look for different possible combinations of letters that form words, whether it is backwards, diagonally or vertically rather than just the traditional left to right formation. The use of Sudoku puzzles would be another way of introducing groupings of numbers to students.
Our brain is amazing, and one of our jobs as teachers is to convey to our students just how amazing it is.
